ISLAMABAD:

Bilateral ties between Japan and Pakistan are based on mutual respect, cooperation, and shared interests.

This was stated by Shindo Yusuke, the deputy head of mission at the Japanese Embassy in Islamabad during a series of webinars about Japan over the past week.

Organised in collaboration with the Islamabad Institute of Conflict Resolution (IICR) and called “Knowing Japan”, Yusuke talked about the Japanese people, the Japanese society and traditions, education, development, economic success, and Japanese culture.

In his lectures, Yusuke started from the historic background of Japan and its age-old traditions and culture.

He later spoke of the current level of Japan-Pakistan bilateral relations. Yusuke said that the ties between the two countries are continuously growing in multiple dimensions.

He hoped that the webinars will create better understanding and acquaintance about Japan amongst the Pakistani people.

Participants of the week-long lecture series deliberated upon modern-day Japan and its achievements.
