Fashion roundup: Sarah Khan ties the knot!

Actor Sarah and singer Falak Shabbir got married in a whirlwind ceremony

Actor Sarah Khan and singer Falak Shabbir surprised fans late on July 15 when they announced their engagement. What followed was a whirlwind of events that culminated in the couple tying the knot just two days after announcing their romance on social media.

The couple exudes an innocent chemistry and pictures and videos of their have already gone viral for reasons like Falak’s love of big, romantic gestures and Sarah’s wholesome reactions to them. Not to mention, their fashion choices, particularly Sarah’s penchant for subdued, traditional glam, which she stayed true to during her wedding events, it seems!

Here’s a breakdown of all her looks so far.

Classic yellow

The glowing bride chose fashion label Farah and Fatima for her simple mayun/ubtan look. Looking every bit like a simple, shy bride, Sarah nailed the contemporary yet traditional bride look at this event. A classic yellow ensemble with a gorgeous, minimalistic dupatta and no excessive trimmings, Sarah carried the look with an innate grace.

A red affair

For what we think was her engagement event (we can’t be sure), Sarah chose a stunning Zainab Salman number. While it was nothing out of the box – we’ve seen the all red look on brides many a times now, including on Iqra Aziz, after Priyanka Chopra rocked it – it still complimented the blushing bride extremely well as she stood against the night sky with fireworks erupting in the background. Sarah chose to style it with a choker and minimal makeup, letting her smile do the talking.

Tradition first

Sarah chose Nilofer Shahid for her Mehandi and nikkah by the looks of it, and carried both ensembles with aplomb. While the mehandi attire was traditional in its colour scheme with oranges and yellows being the star, the nikkah/reception outfit incorporated the age-old classic gharara in shades of pink. Needless to say, both looks elevated the bride to her very best on her big day!

Here’s wishing the newlyweds a happy and blessed future together!
