BIRMINGHAM:

Presidents of Tehreek-e-Kashmir (TeK) Europe and United Kingdom (UK) announced on Saturday their decision to start a 'Justice for Kashmir' drive from August 1 to 15, 2020 to seek the world's attention on the gross human rights violation and demography change in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK).

While addressing a press conference, TeK UK President Raja Fahim Kayani and TeK Europe President Muhammad Ghalib made the announcement.

"We will run a campaign from August 1 to 15 in UK and European countries aimed to create awarness among the masses against India's illegal occupation and state terrorism in IOJ&K," Kayani said.

President Kayani remembered August 5 as a brutal day in the history of IOJ&K with the world's longest lockdown that is still implemented despite the Covid-19 spike.

"During the 'Justice for Kashmir' campaign, we will try to highlight the brutual illegal lockdown and change in the Domicile Law in Kashmir under which Indians want to settle Hindu extremists in IOJ&K to convert the Muslim majority into a minority," Kayani said.

TeK UK President Kayani said protests, seminars, conferences and debates will be arranged in different cities in the country to shed light on the sufferings of the Kashmiris.

He said human rights organisations, members of European and British parliaments will be contacted and briefed about the brutual treatment by Indian armed forces.

Moreover, a plan to launch a digital campaign in the main cities of UK and Europe has been made, highlighting the plight of the IOJ&K people.

TeK Europe President Muhammad Ghalib urged Kashmiris and Pakistanis living in the UK and Europe to show support by taking part in the protests.

The coordinator of the campaign and TeK senior leader Azam Farooq said more than 20 programmes will be conducted to expose Indian atrocities committed by the armed forces.
