Sushant Singh Rajput's girlfriend, actor Rhea Chakraborty is finally speaking up a month after the former was found dead in his house on June 14. She earlier paid homage to the Dil Bechara star in a heartfelt Instagram post and then shared how she has been bullied and trolled since Rajput's passing away.

Now, the starlet has called for a CBI investigation into her boyfriend's death last month, tagging Indian Home Minister Amit Shah in a post on Instagram. Chakraborty said that she "only wanted to understand what prompted him to take the step".

"Respected Amit Shah sir, I'm Sushant Singh Rajput's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty. It is now over a month since his sudden demise. I have complete faith in the government, however, in the interest of justice, I request you with folded hands to initiate a CBI enquiry into this matter. I only want to understand what pressures prompted Sushant to take this step," the actor wrote on Instagram.

However, the Maharashtra Home Minister, Anil Deshmukh spoke to a leading daily and said that there was no need for a CBI inquiry since the Mumbai Police was capable of handling the case. According to Filmfare, he said,  “I have the tweets and the campaign. But I don't think that a CBI probe is required. The Mumbai Police is competent enough to handle such cases and they are investigating every aspect of the case including professional rivalry. As of now, we do not see any foul play. Details of the investigation will be shared once it is completed.”

Mumbai police had probed an investigation into Rajput's death and had been investigating it thoroughly. Chakraborty and Rajput were rumoured to have been dating for a while now and the former even confirmed a wedding to have been on the cards in the police interrogation regarding Rajput's death. The starlet was questioned on June 18, 2020, by the Mumbai Police for nine hours.

After her post, she started trending on Twitter as well. A hashtag, #SSRCaseIsNotSuicide, too, started trending.

The continuous bullying:

This week, Chakraborty took to Instagram recently to reveal that she has been getting rape and death threats since Rajput’s death. Attaching a screenshot of a message by a user, she wrote, "I was called a gold digger, I kept quiet. I was called a murderer, I kept quiet. I was slut-shamed, I kept quiet. But how does my silence give you the right to tell me that you will get me raped and murdered if I don’t commit suicide?”

She went on to stress the seriousness of the matter. "Do you realise the seriousness of what you have said? These are crimes and by law no one, I repeat no one, should be subjected to this kind of toxicity and harassment.”

Chakraborty then went on to tag India’s cybercrime handles on the networking application, asking for prompt action. "I request cybercrime India to please take necessary action," she wrote. "Enough is enough."
