India exposed after refusing to speak to Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav: Qureshi

Says India wanted to isolate Pakistan but instead has been isolated

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday said Pakistan provided consular access to Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav a day earlier, but Indian diplomats refused to speak to him.

The foreign minister said India's actions have been exposed after the diplomats refused to speak to the Indian spy.

Pakistan on Thursday provided consular access to Commander Kulbhushan Jadhav for the second time at the Indian request but the Indian diplomats left the meeting without hearing the naval officer-turned-RAW agent.

Previously, Pakistan provided the consular access on September 2, 2019 under the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations (VCCR) 1963. The mother and wife of Commander Jadhav were also allowed to meet him on 25 December 2017.

While the Foreign Office statement provided no details about what exactly transpired in the meeting between Indian officials and Jadhav.

Referring to Iran's inclusion in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and peace in Afghanistan, the foreign minister said every country of the region will benefit from this decision.

In a statement, he said this is a jolt for India and the opposition is criticising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.

Referring to the border tensions between India and its neighbours, Qureshi said India has wanted to isolate Pakistan but instead has been isolated themselves.
