Netflix to release 17 Indian originals

Projects include 12 new films and five TV series with Bollywood actors such as Anil Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Netflix is adding 17 new TV shows and movies to its ever-growing library of Indian content. The streaming platform’s roster of upcoming Indian originals includes 12 new films and five TV series. The new titles feature performances by prominent Bollywood actors such as Anil Kapoor, Pooja Bhatt, Bobby Deol, Bhumi Pednekar, Konkona Sensharma, Janhvi Kapoor, and many more.

From thrillers to romantic comedies to lighthearted dramas, these upcoming Indian originals will release on Netflix in the coming months. A report on a leading news portal claims, that Netflix will announce nine Bollywood projects that will be released exclusively on their platform.

The list of projects scheduled for a digital release includes Ludo featuring Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rajkummar Rao, Fatima Sana Sheikh, Sanya Malhotra and Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjay Dutt's Torbaaz, Raat Akeli Hai starring Radhika Apte, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare starring Konkana Sensharma and Bhumi Pednekar, Ginny Weds Sunny starring Yami Gautam, Vikrant Massey, Bombay Rose - an award-winning animated film, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl starring Janhvi Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi, Vineet Kumar, Manav Vij and Ayesha Raza Mishra,  Tribhanga - Tedhi Medhi Crazy starring Kajol, Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar, Kaali Khushi featuring Shabana Azmi, Satyadeep Mishra, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Riva Arora, Serious Men starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Nassar, Shweta Basu Prasad, Class Of ’83 featuring Bobby Deol, Bhupendra Jadawat, Hitesh Bhojraj and Annup Sonii and a uniquely entertaining dark comedy AK vs AK starring Anil Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap. 

Along with this a bunch of web series too will be having a digital release. They include Mismatched starring Prajakta Koli and Rohit Saraf, A Suitable Boy, based on the critically acclaimed book by Vikram Seth starring Ishaan Khatter, Tabu and Tanya Maniktala, Masaba Masaba starring Masaba Gupta and Neena Gupta as themselves, Bombay Begums featuring Amruta Subhash, Plabita Borthakur, Aadhya Anand, Pooja Bhatt and Shahana Goswami and Bhaag Beanie Bhaag featuring Swara Bhasker and Ravi Patel.
