Woman run over by speeding truck

35-year-old sustained critical injuries

KARACHI:

A woman died after being hit by a speeding dumper truck while crossing the road in North Karachi on Thursday. Zeba, 35, sustained critical injuries and passed away at the hospital. Meanwhile, bystanders stopped the truck and pelted it with stones. They also apprehended the driver and beat him before the police arrived and arrested him. The deceased was handed over to the heirs after the completion of medico-legal formalities. A case has been registered against the driver, while further investigations are under way.
