LAHORE:

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid visited the residence of the late Nishtar Medical University (NMU) Vice Chancellor (VC) Professor Mustafa Kamal Pasha in Multan, who had breathed his last due to coronavirus.

Primary and Secondary Healthcare Secretary Captain (retd) Usman Younis, Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Special Secretary Silwat Saeed and Additional Secretary Omer Farooq accompanied the minister on her visit.

The minister condoled the death of the professor and while talking to the bereaved family prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Did pandemic start earlier than we think?

Dr Rashid then took a round of the Nishtar Medical University. She visited the surgical ward and enquired after the health of the patients.

She said no words can pay adequate tribute to the contribution of the doctors and other health professionals who lost their lives in the line of duty. The minister appreciated the hospital administration for providing necessary facilities to coronavirus patients in the surgical ward.

“Doctors are on the front line in battle against the coronavirus pandemic and the nation is indebted to them,” she highlighted.

On the occasion, a representative of the Pakistan Medical Association donated a nasal cannula device to the hospital.
