Cattle market cleanliness plan devised

Sanitary workers, machinery deployed at markets

RAWALPINDI:

To ensure cleanliness, health and hygiene during Eidul Azha, a comprehensive cleanliness plan has been prepared.

Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) Managing Director Awais Manzoor dilated on the plan, stating that they have assigned sanitary workers and machinery to clean the designated cattle market of the district government, distributing customized waste bags and spreading general awareness regarding operational procedures.

Manzoor added that negligence will not be tolerated and that strict action will be taken against those who defy the government guidelines.

On the other hand, the district government has decided that cattle markets will only be established outside the city limits and that standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) have been devised.

Earlier, Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Captain (retired) Anwaarul Haq had said that the government has decided to set up cattle markets in eight areas outside the city for the sale and purchase of sacrificial animals ahead of Eidul Azha. The areas included Adiala Road, Chakri Road near Al-Haram City, Fame Marque in Gujar Khan, Dhobi Ghaat Ground in Murree, GT Road near Timber Market, GT Road near Wah General Hospital, Mangal Chowk near Kallar Bypass, Choora Bazaar Kotli Sattian and Tangi Road near Chashmah Jhalyar, Kahuta.
