Servant tries to kill employer’s second son

Boy confesses to having committed crimes due to jealousy

FAISALABAD:

Police claimed to have arrested on Sunday a teenage domestic help who attempted to murder the second son of his employer, a month after killing the first one by throwing them into a canal.

The domestic worker identified as Faizan had earlier killed Samiullah, the youngest son of his employer Arshad Majeed, a father of three who owned a sports shop in Allama Iqbal Colony, the police said.

The police said the accused Faizan had stated that he used to feel inferior and neglected as his employer rebuked him and adored his own children.

Samiullah mysteriously fell into a canal and died on June 5. His body was found in the Mazhabiwala area of Dijkot and the police had registered a case. The accused was caught while throwing the second child into the canal on Saturday.

During interrogation by D-Type Colony police, he confessed to the murder of Samiullah and attempted murder of his brother. Faizan reportedly said he had thrown the children into the canal so that he could get closer to his employer after their death.

The police have obtained physical remand of the accused in both the cases and started further interrogation.

On Saturday, Majeed’s 10-year-old son Abdullah was lured by the accused Faizan to the Rakh branch. He pushed Abdullah into the canal and fled. People standing near the canal rescued the child.

A case was registered in D-Type Colony police station on the complaint of Majeed, the father of the victim.

On the instructions of D-Type Colony SHO Inspector Muhammad Sarwar and senior police officers, the servant, Faizan, was taken into custody and was interrogated.

The accused confessed to the crime during the interrogation. Faizan said his employer Majeed scolded him and loved his children.

In retaliation, and to get close to Majeed, the accused threw the first child Samiullah into the canal and killed him. Now, he also pushed the victim’s brother Abdullah into the canal, but he was rescued by local people. The police are investigating the matter further to ascertain if Faizan had any accomplices in the crime and arrested them.

Incidents involving the murder of minors continue in the district. On June 7, a seven-year-old boy, who was abducted from D-Type Colony area, had been killed after being raped. The body was found by local residents after it was thrown in a canal in Dijkot area.
