RAWALPINDI:

An assistant traffic warden allegedly shot himself in the Dongi village of Jatli area of ​​Rawalpindi on Friday after a reported domestic altercation.

This is at least the third case involving traffic wardens and domestic disputes resulting in fatalities in the past 10 days, causing concern amongst the police force.

Jatli police said that they were called to the house of Assistant Traffic Warden Shamraiz in the Dongi Village. There, they found his body and a rifle with which he had shot himself. Officials said that the body was moved to the Gujjar Khan Tehsil Headquarters hospital for a post-mortem while they spoke to witnesses and collected evidence. Officers said that it appears that after a domestic altercation, Shamraiz pulled out his rifle and shot himself.
