K-P warns employers against lay-offs

The provincial government on Friday warned employers that they will incur heavy fines and even freezing their properties if they terminate employees for their absence or for not performing duties due to the closure of their establishment as part of the coronavirus prevention measures.

In a notification issued by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa labour department, it ordered that during the Covid-19 emergency imposed in the province, no employee or worker shall be laid off, terminated or removed from service in areas under smart lockdowns.
