Two suspects who had escaped from the Korangi Industrial Area police station’s lock-up the previous day were arrested once again on Friday. Usman and Noor Hayat had been arrested for their alleged involvement in robberies and had been in police custody on remand when they fled from the police station at 3am on Thursday. Korangi SSP Faisal Abdullah Chachar had subsequently arrested the night shift duty officer sub-inspector Nisar Ahmed and an official who had been stationed at the gate that night. Meanwhile, Chachar suspended SHO Rana Haseeb, head muharrar Gul Wali and other officials for their negligence. Another case was registered against the suspects after they fled and they have both been handed over to the investigation police, he added.
