The Peshawar Mor-New Islamabad Airport Metro Bus infrastructure construction project assigned to National Highway Authority is nearing completion with 98% and 92% work of Package-I and Package-II has been accomplished respectively.
An NHA official said that thus far, 25.6 kilometres of track for the project has been built, while electrical work on the project was underway and final touches are being given to the bus stations.
The official said that Rs1.5 billion have been allocated for the project in the PSDP for the fiscal year 2020-2021 while Rs11.67 billion were spent until June 2020. It has a throw forward amount of Rs4.74 billion.
He added the project could not be completed due to reasons beyond NHA’s control.
