Contempt Of Court: Police directed to take action
Take action against the policemen who re-arrested a man after he was granted bail by the court.
LAHORE:
Lahore High Court Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry on Friday directed Punjab Police to take action against the policemen who re-arrested a man after he was granted bail by the court.
On Friday, DIG (Investigation) Ali Amir Malik submitted an inquiry report stating that Capt (retired) Sohail Chaudhry, the Pakpattan DPO, was involved in the re-arrest and registration of cases against Javed Sadiq. The DIG said that the DPO appeared to be nursing a grudge against Sadiq because he had a dispute with Kashif Zia, one of Sadiq’s friends. Quoting the report, he said that all cases against Sadiq were false and had been registered on the DPO’s behest. After going through the report, the CJ disposed of the case.
