‘Indian ploy to alter IOJ&K demography will fail’

Shaheryar Afridi administers oath to Corona Tiger Force volunteers

RAWALPINDI:

The world community will never allow India to realise its plan of changing the demography of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJK).

This was stated by the State Minister for SAFRON and Narcotics Control Shaheryar Afridi on Tuesday while addressing newly-inducted members of the Corona Relief Tiger Force (CRTF) during their oath-taking ceremony at the Rawalpindi Arts Council.

Afridi, who is also the chairman of the parliament’s Special Committee on Kashmir, said that Indian forces are increasingly targeting residents of Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) who live along the volatile Line Of Control (LoC). He termed the violation of ceasefire in the disputed Himalayan territory a strategy by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for shifting the media’s focus from the humiliating defeat Indian forces had to face in Ladakh.

'India wants to remove Kashmir from global agenda'

"While India has put eight million Kashmiris under double lockdown in their own homes, Indian forces are writing a new chapter of genocide and oppression in Kashmir,” he said, terming the Citizen's Amendment Act a violation to human rights and a part of a conspiracy to bring in a demographic change in Kashmir.
