ISLAMABAD:

The biggest opposition party, the PML-N, has said it will seek to iron out a joint strategy against the PTI led federal government in the upcoming all parties conference (APC) as the “incompetent” government has pushed the country to the verge of a debacle.

“The country which was producing sufficient electricity during our rule has now become energy starved once again. Mafias are thriving under the protection of Prime Minister Imran Khan,” said the PML-N central leader Khawaja Asif while addressing media in the Parliament Lodges on Tuesday.

Asif was flanked by other PML-N lawmakers – Ahsan Iqbal, Owais Laghari and Marriyum Augranzeb.

“The PTI leaders used to burn electricity bills during their sit-in in 2014 and speak against CPEC [China-Pakistan Economic Corridor] project. However, they are now describing the project as a guarantee of the country’s bright future,” he added.

Ahsan Iqbal lambasted the federal government for a recent flour crisis. He said wheat has been recently harvested but there is a flour crisis due to incompetence and corruption of the current government.

He lamented that the government has also harmed the country’s higher education by changing five federal secretaries in three months. The PML-N leaders claimed that the government is just unveiling the projects started and even completed during the last PML-N government’s tenure.
