Illegal compound demolished in Kurri

The structure was built over five kanals of land

ISLAMABAD:

The enforcement directorate of the apex civic authority on Monday demolished a compound built illegally in the Kurri area of the federal capital.

Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials on Monday said that the anti-encroachment department of the body conducted operations in different areas of the city as part of its ongoing drive, demolishing constructions on state-owned property and retrieving several kanals of land from illegal occupants.

They added that an operation was conducted in the Reharrah area of Kurri area, where enforcement teams demolished a compound which had been illegally constructed on five kanals of state land. During the operation, 15 rooms, washrooms, kitchens, halls and other illegal structures built in the compound were demolished.

Three arrested over transwoman’s murder

In a separate operation, teams of the enforcement directorate demolished 10 rooms and other structures in the Humak Model village. The operation was carried out after the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration and the CDA had demarcated state land there.

The operation was conducted as part of the anti-encroachment operation which started in the village on Thursday when they had demolished a single-storey house built on state land, along with other illegal structures.
