Governor for empowering VCs
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman on Monday said that vice-chancellors of the public sector universities should be empowered to execute administrative affairs in such a way that performance their respective higher education institutions improve. The governor said this while presiding over a meeting to review different proposals for improving public universities and to address their administrative and financial problems. The governor also expressed concerns over the performance of syndicates of different universities, adding that some decisions by these syndicates have created discord amongst the faculty of the respective institutions. The process of checking examination papers from one university by another university aims to bring greater transparency in marking exams and maintaining students’ confidence in this regard.
