PSCA receives 73% fake calls

At least 73% of calls received at Police Emergency Helpline 15 were termed as fake by Punjab safe Cities Authority (PSCA). This was revealed after the statistics of calls received on emergency helplines 15, for the month of June, were released on Sunday. According to details, the emergency helpline 15 received as many as 342,733 calls, out of which, 252,219 calls were considered fake calls while 44,662 cases generated further action. As many as 24,853 of the calls received sought for information, consultancy, traffic management or CTP help. Meanwhile, PSCA Lost & Found Centre contributed to the recovery of four missing persons, two cars, 141 motorcycles and five auto-rickshaws through helpline 15. A PSCA spokesperson said that citizens should avoid making fake calls on helpline 15.
