Senior lawyer kidnapped, tortured

Assailants also stole goods worth R1 million

RAWALPINDI:

City Police Officer Ahsan Younus has ordered an inquiry into kidnapping of senior lawyer Mir Ghaffar Khurshid Imtiazi from his house at gunpoint. Imtiazi had told the CPO in an application that he got a house for accommodation in Airport Housing Society. On Friday, three women and 15 people forcibly entered the house, took him hostage first, tortured him, snatched Rs50,000 and kidnapped him in a car. On raising hue and cry, the kidnappers threw him on the road at a deserted place and drove off. They intruders, Imtiazi said, also took away goods and laptops worth Rs1 million from the house.
