ISLAMABAD:

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has finally pasted a notice at the residence of Justice Qazi Faez Isa, seeking money trail of his family’s undeclared properties.

Source revealed to The Express Tribune that the notice was pasted in compliance with the Supreme Court June 19 order.

The notice has been served by the FBR Commissioner (Inland Revenue) under the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 to Justice Isa’s spouse and children to offer an explanation regarding the nature and source of the funds (separately for each property) brought in a foreign land.

The three properties all in the United Kingdom are: No. 40, Oakdale Road, London E11 4DL; No. 90, Adelaide Road, London E10 5NW; and No. 50, Coniston Court, Kendal Street, London W2 2AN that are acquired in the names of the SC judge’s spouse and his children.

Earlier, it was reported that the FBR had made three attempts but failed to serve the notice on Justice Isa's family members.

PBC Vice Chairman Abid Saqi has already  expressed serious reservations over Para 9 of the short order wherein it is held that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman shall submit inquiry report to the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), which may initiate misconduct proceedings against Justice Isa.
