636 arrested in Sargodha in a month

Police also seized 288 kgs of narcotics, 1,890 litres of liquor

District police arrested a total of 636 outlaws including 144 proclaimed offenders (PO) and 173 drug dealers in Sargodha over the last month.

During the operation against criminals, police also seized 288 kg of narcotics, 1,890 litres of liquor and 300 weapons during the month.

Police officials said on Friday that the teams of various police stations, during its operation against drug pushers, robbers, thieves and POs, conducted raids within their jurisdiction and arrested 173 criminals as well as registered a total of 150 cases. Police also seized 246 kilogrammes of hashish, 27 kilogrammes of heroin, 15 kg of opium and 1,890 bottles of liquor from them.

Similarly, during an operation against weapon holders involved in exhibition of legal and illegal weapons, the police teams arrested 299 suspects and seized as many as 300 weapons including 166 30-bore pistols, 20 Kalashnikovs, 47 rifles of 222-bore, 444-bore and 223-bore, 65 12-bore guns two revolvers and 2,244 cartridges from their possession.

Meanwhile, the police teams also arrested 144 POs. The accused were wanted in different police stations for murder, attempted murder, abduction, robberies and other cases.
