Woman shot dead by brother

A woman was shot dead by her brother near Karana on Thursday. Police said, 48-year-old Muhammad Ilyas, resident of Chak 107 SB wanted to marry off his son with the daughter of his sister Nasreen Bibi.

However, the girl refused the proposal. An altercation occurred in the family over the matter and in a fit of rage, the accused Ilyas allegedly shot his sister and managed to escape from the scene.

The victim died on the spot. Police handed over the body to the heirs after postmortem.
