Labourers released from private jail

Court allows them to go free

SHAHDADPUR:

The police released 10 bonded labourers, including women and children, from the private jail of a landlord in Mir Khan Rind village on Wednesday, on the orders of a local court. A police team raided the jail of landlord Wahid Bux Rind, later presenting the released workers in a Shahdadpur court. The workers told the court that Rind kept them in bonded labour without paying them. The court allowed them to go free and told the police to protect them from harassment by the landlord.
