ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court (SC) annulled on Tuesday the Sindh High Court's (SHC's) order of transferring a 2018 triple murder case, involving Pakistan Peoples Party MPA Nawab Sardar Khan Chandio, to an anti-terrorism court (ATC).

A three-member bench, headed by Justice Mushir Alam issued the ruling, which was reserved on May 29, following an appeal in the open court.

The petitioner, Advocate Umme Rubab Chandio, had sought the transfer of her father, uncle and grandfather's murder from an ATC to an ordinary court.

The SHC had ordered in February 2020 to transfer the case to an anti-terrorism court.

Rubab's father Mukhtiar Chandio, grandfather Karamullah Chandio and paternal uncle Kabil Chandio were gunned down on January 17, 2018, within the jurisdictions of Faridabad Police Station, in Mahar taluka of Dadu district.

PPP MPA Nawab Sardar Ahmed Chandio and his brother Nawab Burhan Khan Chandio were nominated in the triple murder case in January last year but were granted a pre-arrest bails.
