Govt utilising all resources for 'locust free' Punjab

MULTAN:

Punjab Agriculture Secretary Wasif Khursheed said on Sunday that all resources were being utilised for making Punjab ‘locust free’.

“A strategy in collaboration with federal and provincial governments had been evolved.” The operation for elimination of locust was successfully heading forward, he added. “The farmers can concentrate on their crops without any fear.”

Regarding the budget 2020-21, he elaborated that different projects for promotion of agriculture sector and raising living standard of the farmers had been introduced.

“The projects will help reducing input cost and enhancing quality production. Punjab will emerge as a hub of mechanised farming. Punjab is not only the food basket for the country but is also contributing in agricultural exports.”
