Girl scouts get Covid-19 training
A single-day Covid-19 training was arranged for the Sindh Girls Scouts by the Sindh Local Government Department on Sunday.
Expert psychologists conducted the session on basic psychosocial support services to ensure that volunteers could aid affected communities as well counteract the threats posed to public health and safety by fear, stigmatisation and misconceptions.
Furthermore, the scouts were taught how to access correct information about the virus and its spread, to avoid misinformation.
“We can only effectively fight coronavirus if society is well-informed and knows how to deal with it,” said Sindh local government secretary Roshan Ali Shaikh. “The scouts can play a vital role in spreading awareness.”
