Punjab police bust three vehicle lifter gangs

CIA police claimed on Saturday to have arrested the members of three gangs of vehicle lifters and recovered six cars and 72 motorcycles from their possession.

A spokesman said that CIA police conducted raids and arrested 16 members of the three vehicle lifter gangs from various area of Faisalabad.

The police arrested Mano gang’s ring leader Muhammad Mumtaz and his three accomplices while Faisal gang Muhammad Faisal was nabbed along with four accomplices. The police also arrested seven members of the Bali gang, including its ring leader Muhammad Bilal.


The police recovered six cars and 72 motorcycles from the possession of the accused. They were wanted in various cases by the Batala Colony, Gulberg, Kotwali, Jhang Bazaar, Raza Abad, Sargodha Road, Ghulam Muhammad Abad, D-Type Colony, Factory Area, Jaranwala City, Khurarianwala and Tandlianwala police stations.

The owners of the stolen vehicles were called at Police Line Complex and City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry handed over the six cars and 72 motorcycles to them, the spokesman added.
