Dissent on drones

It’s very hard to have sympathy for people I know would celebrate my own death.

DALLASTOWN, PA, US:
This is with reference to your editorial “Dissent on drones” (August 4). It’s very hard to have sympathy for people I know would celebrate my own death. I can’t find it in me to really care anymore in regard to how Pakistan feels about US actions vis-à-vis strikes against militants using drones.

The fact of the matter is that if America doesn’t carry out these strikes, who will? From the looks of it, Pakistan certainly will not. Clearly, that much is obvious to the rest of the world now.

Compare what America does to what suicide bombers do. The latter simply look for the biggest group, strap on a suicide vest and kill as many people as they can. In most instances, those who die happen to be innocent civilians.
