PESHAWAR:
The provincial livestock department on Wednesday decided to allow cattle markets to operate in the province, provided they strictly follow the preventive guidelines for the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), including frequent disinfection.

This was decided during a high-level meeting of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Livestock Department in Peshawar with its Director-General Dr Alam Zeb Mohmand in the chair.

It was decided that all standard operating procedures (SOPs) will be implemented in the cattle markets and other markets ahead of Eidul Adha.

The implementation of the SOPs while setting up cattle markets was discussed in detail and various proposals for implementing the guidelines and adopting security measures for the pandemic at points of sale and purchase of animals were discussed.
