CDA demolishes brick factory
With its lease cancelled, the factory will be used for Park Enclave extension
ISLAMABAD:
The civic agency on Wednesday demolished a brick-making factory as it conducted a massive operation in Park Enclave Extension against encroachment and retrieved state land.
Officials of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday said that the land lease of the bricks factory had been cancelled but they did not vacate the land.
Subsequently, the Enforcement Directorate of CDA, with assistance from the staff of the Land, Rehabilitation and Revenue Directorates, conducted the operation.
They demolished the illegal structures inside the factory and a large shed built on state land by the factory. Moreover, two shops were also razed to the ground.
Separately, another anti-encroachment operation was conducted in Sector I-15. The operation was conducted by Enforcement Directorate and was assisted by the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration and local police.
Officials said that locals tried to stop the operation but CDA managed to remove the encroachment and take possession of the land. Officials said that the land is required for establishing the site office for development works in the sector.
