Four militants killed in Peshawar ‘encounter’
CTD officials said that they received a tip-off about suspected militants hiding out in the Ghaziabad area of Mattani
PESHAWAR:
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of police claimed to have foiled a terror bid after killing four suspected militants during a raid in the Mattani area on the outskirts of Peshawar on Tuesday.
CTD officials said that they received a tip-off about some suspected militants hiding out in the Ghaziabad area of Mattani.
Subsequently, officials from the Mattani police, the CTD, and a quick response force cordoned off the area before launching an operation against the suspected militants.
During the raid, four militants were killed while a large cache of arms was recovered from their possession. Two accomplices of the suspected outlaws managed to flee.
