Australian envoy encourages rainwater harvesting
Dr Shaw says they will be able to store around 741,000 litres of rainwater

With the monsoon season just around the corner, the Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Dr Geoffrey Shaw has built two rainwater tanks at his residence to harvest rainwater.
Sharing pictures of the underground tanks on microblogging social network Twitter, Dr Shaw said that they will be able to store around 741,000 litres of rainwater which he can then use at his residence and the high commission in Islamabad.

“Conservation can be key in tackling water shortage and climate change in Pakistan,” the envoy said, adding, “Australia is helping Pakistan manage this valuable natural resource by sharing Australian expertise.”
With Australia also water-stressed, Canberra through its Sustainable Development Investment Portfolio (SDIP), has been helping Islamabad use Australian technology for efficient water management and building local capacity in integrated water resource management.
