Ansel Elgort denies sexually assaulting a teenager
Ansel was called out by a Twitter user last week for allegedly assaulting her in 2014
Baby Daddy actor Ansel Elgort took to Instagram on Sunday to expressly deny claims that he sexually assaulted a 17-year-old in 2014.
The claims, made by Twitter user Gabby, alleged that she had met Ansel after approaching him on Instagram and he took sexual advantage of her. Following the social media hype around the allegations, Ansel took to Instagram to issue an official statement.
"I was distressed to see the social media posts about me that have been circulating in the past 24 hours. I cannot claim to understand Gabby's feelings but her description of events is simply not what happened," he said.

Ansel then went on to expressly state that he has never and would never assault anyone, before relaying his version of the events. "What is true is that in New York in 2014, when I was 20, Gabby and I had a brief, legal and entirely consensual relationship."
"Unfortunately, I did not handle the breakup well," he went on, adding, "I stopped responding to her, which is an immature and cruel thing to do to someone."
He then attempted to apologise adding that he knows his belated apology does not "absolve me of my unacceptable behaviour when I disappeared."

"As I look back at my attitude, I am disgusted and deeply ashamed of the way I acted. I am truly sorry. I know I must continue to reflect, learn, and work to grow in empathy," he said, rounding up his apology.
Gabby, who chose to conceal her surname, had penned a lengthy note on Twitter in which she revealed how she was “sobbing and in pain” during the alleged assault.
Her post contained other distressing and almost graphic details of her encounter with the actor. She also revealed that Elgort shared nude photos of himself with her and suggested ‘threesomes’ with his friends.
