Priyanka to Malala: Your degree from Oxford is such an achievement

The UN Goodwill ambassador congratulated Pakistan's Nobel Peace Prize laureate on her graduation

Nobel Prize Laureate and female education activist Malala Yousafzai graduated from Oxford recently and several Pakistani celebrities took to social media to congratulate her.

And now it seems that Bollywood actor and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Priyanka Chopra has also congratulated the 22-year-old on her achievement with a picture on social media.

The Sky is Pink actor took to Instagram and shared a candid picture of herself with Malala on her story. She wrote, "Happy Graduation, Malala! Your philosophy, Politics and Economics degree from Oxford is such an incredible achievement. I'm so proud!”

Priyanka had met the young education activist in New York for her charity, the Malala Fund, in September, 2017.

Malala was only 17-years-old when she became the youngest person to win the Nobel Peace Prize. She then pursed her degree in politics, philosophy, and economics at Oxford University. She took to Twitter to share her excitement at achieving this big milestone in her life, posting a happy picture of herself with her family, cutting a cake.

“It’s hard to express my joy and gratitude right now as I completed my Philosophy, Politics and Economics degree at Oxford,” she wrote as the caption for the image.

"I don't know what's ahead. For now, it will be Netflix, reading and sleep," she added.

Priyanka, on the other hand was recently called out for her selective activism when she stood up for the Black Lives Matter movement, after which several pointed out how she never called out the abuse on minorities in her own country.

On the work front, she was last seen in The Sky Is Pink along with Farhan Akhtar.
