RDA sets time frame for approving building plans
Devises new SOPs to induce prompt approvals coming into effect from June 22
RAWALPINDI:
The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has devised new standard operating procedures (SOPs) to induce prompt approval of building plans to uplift the construction sector.
The plan would come into effect from June 22. Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza has warned concerned officials of punitive action if the building plans were not approved in the given timeframe despite the submission of complete documents by the applicants.
During a briefing on Saturday, the RDA chairman said that the residential and commercial building plans would be approved in a month. RDA will take a maximum of 45 days for endorsing a building plan seeking a change of purpose. Further, the official said that the authority would be bound to approve the building plan for a private housing scheme within two months of the filed application.
