Prisons: Murder accused commits suicide
on 19 July the accused, Imran, stabbed his wife, Tayyaba, three months after they got married.

A murder accused committed suicide in the Cantt police station lockup on Thursday. The sessions judge has ordered a judicial inquiry and sought a report for today. Cantonment police officials said that on 19 July the accused, Imran, stabbed his wife, Tayyaba, three months after they got married. The accused on July 28 presented himself before the police. Police said that he was dejected with the inclusion of his mother’s name in the FIR by the complainant. On Thursday, he dipped his head in a bucket of water and killed himself. On the application of Civil Lines MP, Gujranwala Sessions Judge Rasheed Qamar has ordered Magistrate Ziaur Rehman to probe the matter and present a report today. Civil Lines superintendent of police said that the when an accused died in police custody, the police do not probe the incident.
