DERA GHAZI KHAN: Police on Thursday recovered a youth from the custody of a pir in the Taunsa Sharif area. Officials of the Saddar police said that they received a call from an unidentified person who told them that Shafiqur Rehman, son of a landlord, had been chained by Mushtaq Ahmed Khosa, who claimed to be a pir, in Qasba Jhok. They said that the pir had kept Rehman in chains for three days. The police raided the area and recovered the boy. They also arrested the pir. Rehman said that the pir had tied him in isolation and also tortured him. The pir, however, told the police that this was his way of treating sick people who went to him for treatment.
