DC fans, unite! The teaser for the long-awaited Snyder Cut for Justice League has finally hit the internet.

Zack Snyder helmed the superhero blockbuster but stepped down in the final stages of the film, leading to his version never making it to theatres – hence resulting in the ‘Snyder Cut’, a version of the film cut together by Snyder himself.

The Snyder Cut has been hyped for about a year now, and actor Jason Momoa who plays Aquaman finally took it to social media. “The best part about being Aquaman is that Zack Snyder created me so I get to see all this awesome stuff before anyone... Here’s a first ever peek at Zack Snyder’s Justice League,” he wrote.

Right after him, Snyder himself took to Twitter to share the trailer. “First ever sneak peek at JL. Get ready for more at DC FanDome,” he announced.

The promo features a sinister narration that says, “The bell’s already been rung, and they’ve heard it. Out in the dark, among the stars, they know that God is dead,” with Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot, being at the forefront of the teaser. It then cuts to an apocalyptic scene before the screen reads HBO Max. The Snyder Cut is expected to stream next year on HBO Max.

The original Justice League was taken over by Joss Whedon once Snyder stepped down due to personal reasons – a family emergency. Whedon’s result was a two-hour long film, after cutting off about an hour of Snyder’s ‘grim-toned’ rough cut, reported The LA Times.

Even though Whedon’s version was well received, fans started demanding for the original director’s cut and by last November, actors Gadot and Ben Affleck, who plays Batman in the movie, also joined the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign on social media.

The Snyder Cut was then officially announced around a month ago by HBO Max and is slated for a May 2021 release on the streaming platform. Talking to The Times earlier, Snyder was quoted as saying, “I want to thank HBO Max and Warner Brothers for this brave gesture of supporting artists and allowing their true visions to be realized. Also a special thank you to all of those involved in the ‘Snyder Cut’ movement for making this a reality.”
