Family hit by motorway crash loses 4th member

10-year-old boy succumbs to injuries at Allied Hospital

A 10-year-old boy who was injured in an accident on a motorway three days ago succumbed to his injuries at Allied Hospital on Thursday, raising the death toll from the crash to four.

The boy was identified as Ammar. His parents and sister had died on the spot.

The condition of Ammar’s brother is also said to be critical.

The accident took place three days ago when 45-year-old Sarwar, son of Muhammad Din, a resident of Layyah, was coming to Faisalabad Green Town with his family in a car.

Two killed in road accidents in Karachi


While trying to overtake a trailer near Gojra Faisalabad Motorway Interchange at Chak No 62JB Chanan in Sandal Bar area, the car was hit from then rear by a trailer loaded with cement.

Sarwar, his wife Shamim Akhtar, 35, and daughter Manahel, 16, died on the spot, while his sons Ammar and Uzair were rushed to Allied Hospital in a critical condition.

Ten-year-old Ammar succumbed to his injuries in the morning. Sandal Bar police handed over the body of the deceased to the relatives after completing legal formalities.

The hospital sources revealed that 12-year-old Uzair, brother of the deceased Ammar, is also in a critical condition as is on ventilator support.
