I don't have enough comedic content that is within 'limits': Yasir Hussain
The actor in a recent interview revealed the reason for not making a comedy show
Actor Yasir Hussain recently came as a guest on Say it all with Iffat Omer. During the session, Yasir opened up on a lot of things about his life, including his perpetual relationship with controversies.
When asked as to why he is always so opinionated and can't seem to "zip" himself, Yasir revealed that compared to before he is much more restraint. "I think now I have contained myself a lot relatively. Now that I have another person in my life, I don't want my actions to affect her in a negative way."
Adding on, the actor talked about how he doesn't wanna keep things inside him. "I get stuck into controversies cause I end up speaking from the heart. Which I believe is a good thing. I think nowadays the level of silence among people is comparable to inanimate objects like chairs and tables," he said.
When asked on what went down between himself and Hania Amir, Yasir noted that he was sure at the time that the latter would take it as a joke. "It was the banter between two friends. I had made a comment on Instagram thinking that she understands my sense of humour. But she was in a different frame of mind at that time. All the people who know me are aware that I always joke around. I have joked with Iqra many times and she is my wife," he said.
On the subject of how far the limits in comedy go, Yasir admitted that he himself doesn't know. "The comedy we have grown up with included the works of Moin Akhtar, Anwer Maqsood, and Umer Sharif. If you look at Umer Sharif's jokes a lot of times they were about women's make-up, ‘shemales’ in airlines etc. You may not agree with it but we and the public at large have grown up with such humour," he said.
Adding on "When it comes to Anwer Maqsood and Moin Akhtar, you still see old clips of their work being circulated on social media with people labeling it as either racist or sexist."
Furthermore, the Karachi Sey Lahore actor added that the reason he hasn't made a comedy show yet is that he doesn't have enough content that is within "limits". "I know that I’ll go off-limit."
Yasir also revealed details about how he and his now-wife Iqra Aziz began their courtship that ultimately led to their marriage. According to the Baandi actor, while the two had met briefly on the film premiere of Lahore Se Aagey, it was on the 6th Hum Awards in Toronto that took place in 2018, that the two became properly acquainted with one another.

According to Yasir, the encounter between the two took place as Yasir caught her worried about finding her phone, as he was on his way out.
"I asked her what was up. While everyone was telling her that she wouldn't be able to find it, I told her otherwise. As I was assuring her a woman came with Iqra's phone."
On what led him to ask Iqra's hand in marriage, Yasir said that it was upon meeting her mother, that he knew it was the right match. "Her mother is a very pure, caring, and a simple person. So I felt that if Iqra is the daughter of a person like her, she might hold some of her attributes. And it is indeed true. Iqra is a lot like her mother," Yasir exclaimed.
