‘CPWB working to protect children'

The chairperson grief over child abuse incident in Faisalabad area

LAHORE: Child Protection and Welfare Bureau (CPWB) Chairperson Sarah Ahmed said on Tuesday that the bureau had devised a strategy to work in collaboration with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to protect the rights of children.

“CPWB is also working to eliminate child labour and protect children from domestic violence.” During a meeting with an NGO, Godh Charity and other representatives, she stated that those working for the rights of children were performing a great social service.

She added that to eliminate child labour, we would jointly make efforts. “Immediate steps were needed to protect children from domestic violence.” She further said that the bureau was taking effective measures to create awareness and stop domestic violence against children. She warmly welcomed all recommendations, presented by the representatives of the NGO about elimination of child labour.

Meanwhile, the chairperson grief over child abuse incident in Faisalabad area. According to a CPWB spokesperson, the chairperson directed the CPWB focal person Advocate Mohsin Raza Malik to contact the family of the victim child immediately. She assured the affected family that CPWB would provide full legal aid.
