Men also have emotions, they also feel sad: Hira Mani

The actor believes that people should make an effort to understand the men around them

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide last week ignited a conversation around mental health on social media with celebrities also chiming in. Many public figures in Pakistan have also taken to their social media to raise awareness around mental health.

Hira Mani in an Instagram post talked about how men's mental health is often overlooked. " Mein Hamesh kehti hun emotions mardon mein bhi hotay hein dukh unko bhi hota hai. Kia hai kay woh rottey nahi.( I always say the men also have emotions. They also feel sad. The thing is that they don't cry to express themselves) " she said.

"Leken rona unko bhi aasakta hai. Sirf unko samajhna chaye. (  However, that doesn't mean that they cant. They need to be understood)."

Actor Yasir Hussain also took the opportunity to invite everyone in the industry regardless of what occupation they hold, to feel free to go to him if they are under any mental stress.

" Mery saray adakar, hidyatkar, aur technicians kay liye merey phone kay darwazay khulay hoaye hein. ADs, spotboy sey ley kar producer tak kabhi bhi koi depression ka shikar ho tu mujhey call karey ( To all the artists, creatives and technicians, I am just a phone call away. No matter if you're an AD, spotboy or producer, if you are going through depression give me a call)" he said.

"Aap ko hasana mera kaam hai. Khush rahaein, ( To make you laugh is my job. Stay happy)," he said.

Mahira Khan and a few others had earlier on called people to develop a sense of empathy in their daily interactions. "Why have we made it cool to be ‘straight up’? That isn’t called honesty, it’s downright apathy! Be kind and proud. Wear it like a badge. Be kind. Be kind. Be kind. There is much more to people than they show," she had said.

Similarly, Mawra Hocane also urged people to be kind to one another. "It’s so important for all of us to be Kind, to be compassionate, to be polite. We all have a role to play in each other’s life. Let’s all have a big heart for one another," she had said.
