ISLAMABAD:
A samosa-seller, disgruntled on being unable to sell even a single piece throughout the day, was arrested by the police as he climbed an overhead water tank allegedly for committing suicide.
In the FIR registered by Abpara police station ASI Riyasat Ali, it was stated that Ali Raza climbed a water tank in Sector G-7/3 allegedly to jump from there.
The police officials said that the suspect used to sell samosas in the Gulshan market. However, due to the lockdown condition, he was not making any sales, and therefore, he said that he was facing starvation.
The suspect had pleaded the Prime Minister Imran Khan to provide him employment and refused to get down from the water tank unless he was given an assurance.
However, the police managed to talk him out of taking his life, but registered a suicide-attempt case against him. If convicted he would face a six month sentence in jail. Seoarately, Sihala Police apprehended a suspect who allegedly molested a minor boy after hurling death threats to him on Saturday.
