Admissions start in upgraded schools
DEOs directed to complete affiliation process of high schools
RAWALPINDI:
The provincial education department has granted permission for admissions in over 1,000 schools that have been upgraded to high schools.
As many as 1,227 middle schools across the province have been upgraded to high schools with 65 in the Rawalpindi district.
The Punjab Education Department has also directed the district education officers (DEOs) to complete the affiliation process of all the upgraded schools with their respective educational boards.
The officials said that the admission process in the educational institutions would begin from June 15. Further, the government has also sought lists of teachers to be posted there.
Schools to remain closed after June 1 Sindh
In this regard, Rawalpindi District Education Authority (DEA) Chief Executive Kashif Azam said that some 65 middle schools, both girls and boys, had been upgraded to high schools in the district.
He added that meeting of headmasters and headmistresses of these schools, who have been promoted to basic pay scale (BPS) 17, has been called on June 15.
The DEO said that they would review preparations of these institutions in the meeting.
