Killer of mother, daughter arrested in Swabi
Verbal altercation had taken place over unpaid dues

A man allegedly killed the wife and daughter of his employers in Swabi, allegedly after he was not paid on time. The suspect was later arrested, police said on Friday.
Swabi district police in a statement issued on Friday said that they were called to a house within the remits of the Chota Lahore police station at around midnight over reports that a woman and her daughter had been killed. Subsequently, a police squad comprising SHO Shafiq Ahmed and investigating officers rushed to spot.
The complainant, Moin Khan, told the police that his wife Zahida and daughter Maria had been shot dead and that he suspected that his employee Miraman was the culprit.
Mohsin said that he had previously had a verbal altercation with Miraman in Islamabad over delays in paying him Rs4,000.
The plaintiff further said that after the altercation, he called his wife and asked her to pay Miraman. When the suspect went to collect the money, Mohsin claimed, the man allegedly fired indiscriminately at his wife and daughter, killing both on the spot.
Based on Mohsin’s complaint, police arrested Miraman. Officers claimed that during initial investigations, the suspect had allegedly confessed to the crime. He further said that his employer had delayed his payment which placed him in great financial trouble.
He added that he killed his employer’s wife and daughter to cause him pain.
Police said the suspect is also a neighbour of the victim and that they have recovered the suspected murder weapon, a pistol from his possession.
