The applications are being scrutinized regarding government’s approved Artists Welfare Funds
QUETTA:
Provincial Secretary for Culture, Tourism and Archive Zafar Ali Buledi on Thursday disclosed that the provincial government has announced a relief package worth Rs50 million for artists deprived from work during the novel coronavirus smart-lockdown.
“The Balochistan Finance department has approved to open a separate bank account for artists’ relief package to which the funds would be transferred through the accountant general’s office,” Buledi said, adding that suggestions are being made through Deputy Commissioners in order to induct all artists of the province.
“Lists of people belonging to all entertainment fields including Radio, TV, Folk Music, Film, Theater, Dance, Panting and Calligraphy would be compiled in order to ensure merit while distributing funds,” he added.
Sharing his views on the approved funds the secretary said, the applications are being scrutinized regarding government’s approved Artists Welfare Funds.
“The progress has been halted as an application had already been filed against Artist Welfare Funds in Balochistan High Court,” Buledi said, pledging to avoid injustice with any artist in Balochistan.
