Blast in DI Khan injures 5

Four policemen and a civilian have been injured in a blast in Dera Ismail Khan early on Saturday.

The blast took place in the Sheikh Yousaf area near a police mobile van. SP investigations Aslam Khatak confirmed that the bomb was planted on the road. He said Saturday's attack happened as the patrol vehicle travelled through the town of Dera Ismail Khan.

Khatak said one of their officers who played an important role in arresting militants was among the victims. 14 suspects have been rounded up during a search operation after the blast, he informed.

Further investigations are underway and the injured have been taken to a local hospital.
