Police have arrested the parents and the alleged husband of a 13-year-old girl for forcing her into marriage.
ASP Anila Naqvi had received a report that a man named Noor Muhammad was trying to get her 13-year-old stepdaughter married off in Saidpur village within the limits of Kohsar Police Station.
Acting on ASP Naqvi’s orders, Kohsar police raided Noor Muhammad’s house and hauled away the child, her parents and her alleged husband, 27-year-old Qaiser Shahzad, a resident of Hafizabad.
The girl’s mother told the police that they had performed the nikah of the child with Shahzad some months ago and were waiting till she turns 13 to send her off with her husband.
